Dr. Arvind Gupta has been appointed as Trustee on the Board of NPS Trust with effect from 1st January, 2026.

Dr. Arvind Gupta is the Head and Co-founder of Digital India Foundation, a policy think tank working at the intersection of technology policy, digital public infrastructure and AI ethics. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi and Ashoka University.

He is a member of the Investment Committee of the National Fund of Funds Scheme nominated by the DPIIT, GOI and managed by SIDBI. He is on the Advisory Council of the Open Network for Digital Commerce and is a Non-Executive Board Member at Acuite Ratings and Research Limited. Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer of MyGov.in, the Government of India’s flagship platform for participatory digital governance.

Dr. Gupta has published extensively on the digital economy and governance in leading national newspapers, as well as platforms such as the Harvard Business Review and the World Economic Forum.

With nearly three decades of experience, Dr. Gupta has held senior leadership roles across consumer internet, digital media, payment systems, analytics, and the data economy, spanning both policy and entrepreneurial domains in India and Silicon Valley. He has served on the boards of organisations including Larsen & Toubro and the State Trading Corporation of India and Digital India Corporation. His work earned global recognition, including inclusion in the membership of the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council on Digital Economy and Society, and OECD expert on Global Value Chains. He also serves on the advisory boards of ICRIER Prosus Centre for Internet and Digital Economy. He is a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Expert Member, INSA Center for Science and Technology Policy. He is a founding member of iSPIRT foundation and has co-founded startups such as e-enable, amplify.ai, apnaPay amongst others.

Dr. Gupta is a recipient of the Eisenhower Global Fellowship for Innovation and the Distinguished Centenary Alumni Award from IIT-BHU and Distinguished Alumni Award from Benaras Hindu University. He was awarded the “Ecosystem Enabler of Year” award by the IVCA in 2024.

He holds an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT-BHU, Masters in Computer Science and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA and an EFPM (DBA) from the Indian School of Business. His doctoral research examined trust-based ecosystems in Digital Public Infrastructure, with India’s UPI as a case study.
