Shri Swapnil Agrawal has been appointed as Trustee on the Board of NPS Trust with effect from 31st July, 2026.

He is an Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer of the 2011 batch, currently serving as Director in the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India. In this capacity, he leads key policy portfolios spanning Financial Services Customer Excellence and Pension Reforms.

Prior to his current assignment, he served on deputation as Superintendent of Police in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), directing investigations into high-stakes, multi-jurisdictional bank fraud and complex economic offenses. His core civil service tenure encompasses extensive leadership in defence public finance, having served as Financial Advisor across formations of the Indian Armed Forces and Indian Ordnance Factories, alongside managing large-scale human resources and establishment administration.

A qualified Chartered Accountant, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Delhi.
