Dr. Pramod Kumar has been appointed as a Trustee on the Board of NPS Trust with effect from 23.07.2024. Dr. Kumar is an IRS officer of 2008 batch. He did his MBBS from one of the top colleges of India, UCMS and GTB Hospital, Delhi, securing distinction in Biochemistry. 

He worked as an Assessing Officer in Mumbai and handled sensitive post search and seizure cases of various business groups. He completed assessment of more than 2000 cases including that of big corporate groups. Further, he detected and got admission of tax evasion of about Rs.125 crores in non-raid cases, which is a rarity. 
He has been a faculty member of National Academy of Direct Taxes, Nagpur, the apex training institute of IRS officers. Apart from academics, he developed theme-based gardens- Unity Garden, Nakshtra Van, Rashi Van, Navgraha Van and Butter fly garden in the academy. Also, Plantation of more than 5,000 saplings as per modified Miawaki Technique under Nagar Van Project was done. 

After joining Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare, he prepared a detailed report on the issues faced by the pensioners in relation to CGHS and submitted the report to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. 
He headed the committee for integrating the pension Rules of Railways employees with that of Central Civil pensioners. 

At present, he is handling the matters related to the pension policy including NPS and redressal of pensioners’ grievances.
